Personal Data Protection
GDPR Compliance
Our compliance program with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is at the heart of our approach to personal data protection. As the data controller for the collected data (names, first names, email addresses), we are committed to complying with the principles of GDPR.
To ensure this compliance, we have implemented strict procedures for managing data, including transparent processes for the collection, storage, and deletion of personal information. Clients can consult our GDPR Compliance Guide, which details the actions and measures taken to ensure the protection of your data.
Access to Our Compliance Documentation
Our general data protection policy, which details our security and confidentiality commitments, is available for consultation. This policy is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practices and legal requirements. Security
Platform hosting: OVHcloud
Teach Up platform data, including all collected personal data, is hosted by OVHcloud, our primary provider, exclusively on servers located in France. OVHcloud is recognized for its secure infrastructure, compliant with international security standards.
OVHcloud data centers benefit from both physical and technical security measures, including 24/7 surveillance, strict access control, and systems protecting against environmental risks such as fires or floods.
Generative AI features: Microsoft Azure
Teach Up's generative AI features use models hosted and deployed by Microsoft (Azure OpenAI Service), exclusively on European servers, notably in Sweden and Paris. For most requests, only the most relevant passages of your content are sent to the models. This data is never used to train or improve the models, and it is not accessible to OpenAI or to other customers.
To learn more, see Generative AIs in Teach Up. Our policy on the use of generative AI is available on request at support@teachup.com.
Enhanced Security at All Levels
Our infrastructure is protected by advanced security measures. Access to data is strictly controlled through IP address filtering processes and encrypted communications via forced HTTPS. We also use cutting-edge technologies to continuously monitor our network and identify any suspicious activity.
Additionally, our system undergoes regular security tests, including independent audits, to ensure we meet the highest security standards.
Continuous Commitment to Security
Our teams are dedicated to proactive risk management and implementing effective incident response strategies. All of our employees receive regular training on best practices in IT security, with a particular focus on phishing prevention and other cyber threats.
Our Data Protection Officer (DPO) ensures that all data protection-related requests are promptly addressed and in compliance with current regulations. We are committed to continuously adapting our practices to stay compliant with legal requirements and provide an optimal level of security to our clients.
Frequently asked questions
Where is Teach Up data hosted?
Platform data, including personal data, is hosted by OVHcloud in France. Generative AI models are hosted by Microsoft Azure on European servers, notably in Sweden and Paris.
Is our content used to train AI models?
No. Data sent to Teach Up's AI features is never used to train, retrain or improve the models, whether OpenAI's or Microsoft's.
Does OpenAI have access to our data?
No. Teach Up uses Azure OpenAI Service, which is fully controlled by Microsoft. This service does not interact with services operated by OpenAI (ChatGPT, OpenAI API): inputs and generated outputs are not accessible to OpenAI or to other customers.
Is personal data sent to the AI?
Teach Up does not include any personal data in its AI features. The AI works from the content you provide (documents, links, notes): avoid including personal data in it.
Is data encrypted?
Yes. All exchanges with the platform go through HTTPS. For AI, Azure encrypts data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
Can generative AI be turned off?
Yes. Generative AI is an option: it is enabled or disabled course by course, on the authoring side (AI Assistant) and on the learner side (AI Coach). See Generate content within a course with the AI Assistant.
Who owns content generated with AI?
Its authors. Teach Up and its technical partners do not claim ownership of generated content. The only exception: content that reproduces a work the author does not hold the rights to.
Which documents can we send to our IT department?
Our policy on the use of generative AI, available on request at support@teachup.com, our General Terms and Conditions, as well as our GDPR Compliance Guide and general data protection policy, available on request from our DPO: dpo@teachup.com.
