First-time login on Teach Up (for authors and learners)

This article explains how to log in to Teach Up for the first time, whether you are an author, an administrator or a learner, and how to solve the most common login issues.

First-time login as an author or administrator

Teach Up offers two login methods:

  • Standard login: with an email address and a password.
  • SSO login (Single Sign-On): with your organization's credentials.

Go to the section that matches your account's login method.

Both login methods can be active on the same Teach Up account.

Standard login (email and password)

When a new author or administrator is added to the Teach Up account, an invitation email is sent to their email address. The sender is noreply@teachup.com.

To access Teach Up:

  1. In the email from Teach Up, click "Complete My Account".
  2. Enter your information: first name, last name and password.
  3. Accept the Terms of Service.
  4. Click "Finalize my account".
  5. Enter the credentials you have just created and click "Sign In".

The studio home page opens.

SSO login

  1. In the email from Teach Up, click "Complete My Account".
  2. Click the SSO login button.
  3. Accept the Terms of Service.

Your account is created automatically with your first name, last name and email address, and you go straight to the Teach Up studio.

With SSO, your password is never entered or visible in Teach Up.

First-time login as a learner

After an assignment

When an author assigns you a course, an assessment or a training path:

  1. You receive an email informing you of the assignment.
  2. Click the link in the email: an account creation page opens.
  3. Enter your information: first name, last name and password.
  4. Accept the Terms of Service.
  5. Click "Finalize my account".
  6. Log in with your new credentials.

You go straight to the activity assigned to you.

If SSO is enabled for your organization:

  1. Click the link in the email.
  2. Click the SSO login button and enter your organization's credentials.
  3. Accept the Terms of Service.

Your account is created automatically with your first name, last name and email address, then you are redirected to the activity.

Through a direct access link

When the course, assessment or training path is shared through a direct access link:

  1. Click the activity link.
  2. Choose "Create My Account".
  3. Enter your email address: you receive a registration email.
  4. In this email, click "Complete My Account".
  5. Enter your information: first name, last name and password.
  6. Accept the Terms of Service.
  7. Log in with your credentials (or with the SSO login button) to access the activity.

Log in again later

Once your account is created, you can log in again at any time with your credentials:

  • Learners: from the link in the assignment email, or directly at app.teachup.com/learner (if the learner space is active on your Teach Up account), where you find all the activities available to you.
  • Authors and administrators: at app.teachup.com/author.

Remember to use the same email address as the one you created your account with.

Login issues

I didn't receive the invitation or assignment email

  • Check your junk mail (spam) folder: the email is sent by noreply@teachup.com.
  • Check with the person who invited you that the email address they entered is yours.
  • If you are a learner, the author can resend the assignment email from the distribution tab of the activity.

I forgot my password

On the login page, click "I forgot my password" and follow the instructions you receive by email. If your organization uses SSO, your password is managed by your organization: contact your IT department.

The page stays stuck on "Loading"

Contact the Teach Up support team, giving the email address concerned and, if possible, a screenshot of the page.

Frequently asked questions

Do learners have to create an account to access activities?
Generally, yes. There are two exceptions:

  • if SSO is enabled, the account is created automatically at the first login;
  • if the open link option is enabled on your Teach Up account, learners can access an activity shared by link without creating an account. This option is only enabled for some customers: contact your Teach Up representative to find out more.

Can assignment emails be customized?
No, the assignment emails sent by Teach Up cannot be customized. Other emails sent by Teach Up can be, such as automatic reminders.

In which language is the learner's account creation displayed?

  • If the learner clicks the link in an assignment email or a direct access link, account creation is displayed in the language of the activity.
  • If they access Teach Up another way, it is displayed in their browser language. If that language is not available, Teach Up uses the language of the author who made the assignment: French if the author is French-speaking, English if they are English-speaking.
