SCORM definition
SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a standard that formalizes the exchange of content between an authoring tool, like Teach Up, and an LMS (Learning Management System). SCORM allows Teach Up to generate a SCORM package (ZIP file) that can be directly imported into your LMS.
SCORM Online is a connected format that allows participants to access Teach Up modules with all real-time features, including smart adaptation, personalized recommendations, social interactions, and progress tracking.
In contrast, SCORM Offline is a disconnected format.

Set up the SCORM Online package (SCORM Cloud)
Access SCORM Online Settings (SCORM Cloud)
To set up your SCORM package, go to the “Distribute” tab in the side navigation bar when you open your course, assessment, or training path. Then, select "Scorm export".

Choose the SCORM Online (SCORM Cloud) Version
Under “SCORM Export Version”, choose the compatible version for your platform. SCORM 2004 is the latest version and is recommended by default if your LMS does not specify a particular version, as it ensures optimal communication between the authoring tool and the LMS.
Select your LMS from the dropdown list. If it is not listed, choose “Unknown”.
Configure Participant Tracking
Define Success (SCORM 2004)
This binary value indicates whether training is completed or not. Define it based on various parameters, such as progress or score.
- “Define success by Progress”: Define success by progress when the participant reaches 100% completion.
- “Define success by Score”: Use the final score achieved by the participant to determine success. Set a success threshold (default is 70%). If the participant does not reach this threshold, the training is not marked as completed.
- “None”: When selected, do not send success information to the LMS.
In SCORM 1.2, success is defined by progress.
Define Score
The score reflects the participant’s success rate in the training, calculated based on correct answers.
- “Transmit mastery level if available”: Transmit the mastery level calculated from the learner’s responses. If no mastery is measurable, Teach Up will transmit a 100% score by default.
- “Transmit 100%”: Teach Up will transmit a 100% score at the end of the activity.
- “Do not transmit score”: No score will be sent to the LMS.
Define Progress (SCORM 1.2)
This option is specific to SCORM 1.2. Define the participant’s training status (Complete/Incomplete, Passed/Incomplete, Passed/Failed). Check your LMS documentation for the required value.
Display a return button to the LMS Platform
Enable “Show return button to LMS platform” to allow participants to return directly to the platform by clicking a button on their training end screen. See the participant view below:
Download your SCORM package
Review the main settings of your SCORM package using the overview. Then, click “Download” to obtain the ZIP file ready for import into your LMS.
Open and close access
By default, access to the package is set as “Open.” To close access to the SCORM file, follow these steps:
- Click “Edit”.
- Select “Closed access”.
- Click “Save”.

When “Closed access” is selected, participants attempting to access the file will see the following error message:
Edit your SCORM package after distribution
Edit your SCORM package settings at any time by clicking “Edit.”
- If you change the SCORM version or LMS name, re-download your SCORM package and re-import it into your LMS.
- For other settings, changes will apply to new participants. To apply them to previous participants, delete their results from the LMS.
Save default configuration
In the “Subscription and Configuration” tab of your Teach Up account, save the default SCORM export settings. These settings will apply to all future activities created on the platform.

Track data in the Teach Up dashboard
Your Teach Up dashboard will display the expected information regardless of the distribution format. To identify a participant, the LMS can use their email or a SCORM ID. If this SCORM ID is not shared with Teach Up, the dashboard will only show the participant’s name and surname without their email.
