SCORM Offline is a disconnected export format from Teach Up and its artificial intelligence. Unlike SCORM Online (or SCORM Cloud), which allows participants to benefit from a real-time, adaptive, and social experience, SCORM Offline can be activated in specific cases to meet particular needs of some subscriptions.

Differences between SCORM Online (Cloud) and SCORM Offline
SCORM Offline and SCORM Online offer similar features but differ mainly in real-time data access and flexibility for changes.
For a full description of SCORM Online features, refer to our dedicated article on SCORM Online.
Here’s a summary of the main differences:
SCORM Online features
- Real-time connection to artificial intelligence to customize the learning experience.
- Content adaptation based on the participant's pace and responses.
- Live edits in Teach Up without re-exporting.
- Enhanced experience with social features like contributions or polls.
SCORM Offline features
- Offline use from Teach Up (no real-time access to the internet or Teach Up servers).
- Pre-recorded scenarios replace adaptive learning (e.g., repeating a question if the participant makes an error).
- Re-exporting of the SCORM file is required after every modification before integrating it into the LMS.
- No data retrieval on participants in Teach Up (no real-time performance or interaction tracking).
- Dynamic features, such as forms, polls, or contributions, are not available.
Access and download SCORM offline packages
SCORM packages are available in SCORM 2004 format. Once generated, the file can be downloaded and integrated into any LMS compatible with SCORM 2004.
If the Teach Up contract is terminated
If you end your Teach Up subscription or have specific needs, you can download your courses as SCORM Offline. These modules will remain accessible via your LMS but will no longer benefit from updates or Teach Up's intelligent algorithms. Social features will be disabled as they require a connection to our servers.
The number of downloadable modules depends on your subscription and its duration. Please refer to our General Terms and Conditions for more details.
If your Teach Up contract is active
To retrieve SCORM Offline packages during an active Teach Up subscription, you must have subscribed to the Extension option. SCORM Offline package generation is a chargeable feature. Teach Up teams will assist you through the recovery process.
Managing Changes in SCORM Modules
If the Teach Up subscription is still active, changes can be made from the Teach Up account. Unlike SCORM Online, changes in a SCORM Offline module require re-exporting the module after every update. Once modifications are made in Teach Up, a new SCORM file must be generated and reintegrated into the LMS.
If the contract is terminated, updates will not be possible.
